RC-1138, also known as 'Boss', is the leader of Delta squad. Like a good leader, Boss looks out for his squad while organizing squad manuevers for maximum efficiency and achievement of the objective. When things get hairy, Boss keeps everyone focused and on track.
Boss is the only Delta who seems to have inherited Jango Fett's Concord Dawn accent, despite being trained by Walon Vau.

Ryan Kaufman writes: Until Karen [Traviss] mentioned casually one day that squaddies often call their leader "boss," the leader of Delta Squad in Republic Commando didn't even have a name. I knew the Deltas would never stand for that. And so he became "Boss."
