Like the other members of Omega Squad, Darman lost his original squad at Geonosis and had to adjust to a new squad of strangers. Darman's expertise is demolitions, including what he delicately calls "rapid entry". :)
During Omega Squad's first mission, on the planet Qiilura, Darman was separated from the other three members of his squad during planetfall and he had to kill and evade many bad guys before running into the Jedi Padawan Etain. A friendship developed between them, accelerated by the stresses of being under fire, and eventually they met up with the rest of the squad and were able to complete the mission.
